About the Circuit Barcelona
Since its birth in 2008, Circuit Festival has pioneered a concept that couldn’t be found in Europe before the festival was set in motion: holiday festivals engineered towards gay and lesbian audiences. Matinée Group, a well known leisure events producer, devised a formula for success that has set the example for initiatives from around the world: summer, sun, beach time and a wide range of high quality leisure opportunities.
Circuit Festival Europe’s biggest gay and lesbian holiday get together, unveils the first news of its 6th edition, which will take place in Barcelona from August 8th to 18th. In 2012, the festival brought together 70,000 people, with over 70% of them from foreign countries around the world.
DAYTIME ACTIVITY PROGRAMME:
From August 8 to 18th, a complete daytime agenda with over 30 activities is scheduled to fit every need and taste: workshops, lectures, debates, documentary screenings… also, a healthy sports schedule with soccer and beach volley tournaments, fitness workouts, long board routes and even open air yoga and tai-chi sessions.
NEW OPEN AIR PARTIES
Circuit Festival’s audience comes to Barcelona looking for a mixture of sun, beach, culture, gastronomy, cosmopolitan ambiance and tolerance that the city is happy to offer to tourists. Under this premise, and after stating that year after year day time open air parties are the ones preferred by festival attendants, an addition has been made to the event’s consolidated calendar of over 20 parties. We are talking about four new day time events: a great big party at the beach and two more parties in spaces with huge water facilities.
Nevertheless, “Water Park Day” remains the festival’s flagship event and the world’s biggest LGBT event held at a water park. In it, gays, lesbians, bisexuals and straight friends meet up to enjoy a day of open air fun that runs down LGBT clichés; traditionally linked to closed venues and the dark of the night.
